Why Give?

Every gift to Tandem’s Day of Giving directly supports the students, experiences, and opportunities that make our school community so special. Your generosity helps ensure that students are known, challenged, supported, and inspired every day.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has already supported Tandem this year, and we invite you to join us for Day of Giving to help create even more opportunities for our students. As part of your gift, you’ll have the chance to share a message of encouragement with the community. While your gift amount will remain private, your support and belief in our students will be proudly visible.

Be sure your gift is counted with your constituency group — parents, alumni, grandparents, staff, friends, and more — as we’ll be celebrating participation, friendly competition, and special challenge opportunities throughout the campaign!

What is the Tandem Friends Fund?

The Tandem Friends Fund is our school’s annual fund. It is an essential resource for funding financial aid, supporting our teachers and providing experiential learning opportunities to our students, and so much more. Gifts to the Tandem Friends Fund go where the need is greatest in our school, and they are put to use in the same fiscal year that they are given. The fastest way to make a meaningful difference at Tandem is to make a gift to the Tandem Friends Fund.

Why Giving Matters

Tandem was founded with a vision to create a collaborative educational environment that gives students freedom with responsibility and ignites a love of learning that transforms lives. Bringing this vision to life requires a high level of commitment and significant resources. The Tandem Friends Fund (TFF) provides the funding needed to bring these founding concepts to life and to set Tandem apart from other schools in our area. Tandem is an independent school that does not accept federal or state funding. Your gifts help us to maintain our independence and our ability to provide a values-driven education to a diverse and welcoming community.

Like most other independent schools, tuition does not cover operating costs in full. We rely on donations from parents, grandparents, alumni families, alumni and local community members to help us create the moments of spark that transform lives. Your gift makes an immediate and meaningful impact on the experiences of our students, faculty and staff.

About Giving

Our school is a non-profit, 501c3 organization that relies on donations from community members, which means that your gift is tax-deductible. Many people are able to maximize their tax benefits by giving assets like appreciated stocks, or from their IRAs. You can reduce your tax-burden and make a difference at our school by making a gift to Tandem.

Tandem can also receive contributions from your Donor Advised Fund and we qualify for employer matching gift programs. If you choose to give through one of the methods above, please notify Tiffany Norman at [email protected] so that we can appropriately track and acknowledge your gift.

Gift Matches and Challenge Opportunities:

Make your impact go even further during Day of Giving!

• Double Your Impact: Every Day of Giving gift made by May 12 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

• Alumni Challenge: When 100 alumni make a gift, an additional $10,000 will be unlocked to support our mission.

  Alumni gifts will continue to count toward the Alumni Challenge through May 19, 2026.
